anyways , about the dunman badge ,

The school is indeed heartened to have engaged passionate ex-Dunmanites on their views about the change of the school badge. We acknowledge that it is important for the school to retain its roots while moving forward. We are touched by the sentiments of the ex-Dunmanites and their sense of belonging to the school.

While the current school badge introduced in May this year attempts to reflect Dunman’s commitment to steering the school forward, we have also strived to retain the elements of the past. We would like to assure all ex-Dunmanites that we recognise the importance of keeping the school motto, “Knowledge the Torch of Life” and the school song to anchor a strong sense of belonging in all Dunmanites past and present. To foster a stronger sense of belonging among ex-Dunmanites and to ensure that current students are aware of the evolution of the school, the old badge, with a write-up of the school history, will be prominently displayed at strategic locations in the school. Apart from the murals located around the school celebrating Dunman’s history, a Heritage Centre will be set up to serve as a focal point for all ex-Dunmanites to remember their roots. It will also serve as a centre for all associated with the school to forge strong bonds with the school. We would like to appeal to all ex-Dunmanites to render their support in the setting up of our Heritage Centre so that it will always serve as a reminder of their experiences as well as to inspire current and future students to leave the school as Distinctive Dunmanites. Let’s work together as a closely-knit community to make Dunman an established school, known for its innovative and forward looking culture, with a rich heritage and tradition.
